  • The Days of Saint Paolino – Celebrations in honour of the Patron Saint. 12th of July, 9.30 pm
  • Puccini Festival – Torre del Lago. A must see event for opera lovers. Performances of the most beautiful Puccini operas, set in the place where they were composed.

August

  • Musical evenings – the Antique Market streets and squares in a special summer event. Via del Battistero, via del Gallo and the adjacent courtyards.

September

  • Procession of the Holy Cross (Processione di Santa Croce) – Parade through the historical centre held by the public and religious authorities, characters in costume, flag bearers, bands. The procession starts on the 13th of September at 7pm from the church of San Frediano, and ends at the San Martino Cathedral. At 11pm the fireworks show, visible from the city walls of the historical centre. Worship of the Holy Face, Lucca’s Patron Saint, which is exhibited inside the Cathedral.
  • Traditonal September fairs – Piazza San Michele and Borgo Giannotti
  • Piazza San Michele – Market from the 13th to the 29th.
  • Borgo Giannotti 14th, 21st, 29th and every Sunday of the month: Flea market
  • Mura Urbane Murabilia – amateur gardening show
  • Montecarlo Wine festival – traditional food and wine event combining wine tasting with typical local produce, shows and music.

November

  • Lucca Comics&Games- Comics and games show, for collectors and lovers
    An important event including many other happenings in parallel, such as conventions, meetings, exhibitions.
    Starting from 1st November
    Place: Lucca punto Fiera. Exhibitions are located in different spaces around the historical centre.

Monthly

  • Antiques fair – one of Italy’s most famous places to buy furniture, trinkets, costume jewellery and precious jewels. On the third weekend of every month, more than 300 exhibitors gather around the area of San Martino Cathedral, piazza Antelminelli, San Giusto and San Giovanni.
  • Arts and crafts show – another confirmation of the tradition of antiques dealing in Lucca. The last weekend of every month in piazza San Giusto.
